P2P Active Denial Technology

Patented technology that is portable and scalable designed to monitor, detect, intercept, capture, report and deny all contaminated P2P network traffic, encrypted or non-encrypted, without any measurable latency on the network. By preventing user upload and download to contaminated P2P networks, P2P Active Denial System™ drains those networks of content, reduces their appeal and use, thus effectively eliminating them as sources to obtain infringing digital files.

Achieving these results required a new paradigm in system architecture encapsulating the functionality of many advanced technologies, and deploying Dynamic Profiling and Learning Authorized Network Patterns in an architecture created specifically for network operations, regardless of network type or speed, resulting in far more scalable processing capacity. Lawful 100% packet capture and intercept is facilitated by a unique intelligent distribution of captured data that optimizes industry standard multi-CPU architecture by intelligently balancing the network traffic processing load.

• Adaptive Fingerprinting and DNA Markers: SafeMedia's dictionary of P2P and Bit Torrent clients and protocols is the world's largest and most current collection of fingerprints and DNA markers of contaminated P2P and Bit Torrent protocols/clients. P2P Active Denial System™ monitors all packets for fingerprints and DNA markers in outgoing and incoming packets and performs multiple simultaneous levels of analysis. In the few cases where fingerprints alone are insufficient, P2P Active Denial System™ actually combines DNA marker evidence from multiple packets using stored infringing evidence.
• Adaptive Network Patterns: Securely monitor and intercept only targeted communications. Not all packets can be easily identified with a single set of definitions. As such, P2P Active Denial System™ is set to monitor packet flows and adapt its technique based on what it has already seen and what it sees now. This comprehensive system utilizes experience libraries. P2P Active Denial System™ looks for patterns of certain identifiable characteristics of network events and determines if the packets are from a contaminated P2P or Bit Torrent network or not. Contaminated packets are dropped and non-contaminated packets continue on their way.
• Intelligent Libraries: SafeMedia's libraries are dictionary driven consisting of knowledge based collection of actual operations of subnets, and includes specific logic function with adjustable and tunable parameters which seek unknown relationships among network packets in addition to predictable adaptive network pattern analyses.
• Remote Update: Automatically safeguards users by having access to all system updates and functionality improvements as soon as they are released. A fundamental design objective was enabling the technology to be remotely updated every 3 hours in order to immediately respond to the quickly changing protocols and clients in P2P networks, while preserving investment protection of the solution.
