I am a recording artist/industry professional that has lost a substantial amount of my r evenue and royalties due to Internet piracy and the illegal downloading of my copyrighted music files through illegal peer-to-peer (P2P networks). I am also a citizen of this country that pays my taxes, contributes to political campaigns, and strongly influences voters. The utilization of the current illegal P2P music technology is the culprit for my losses, has created a state of anarchy in the copyright laws, and given the Department of Commerce a challenge they have not been able to meet………….yet.
